The Invacare Birdie Compact is the smaller, more compact version of the larger Birdie 180. All of the same design features and functionality are incorporated into this smaller version. If you do not need the larger weight capacity of the Birdie 180 and space is at a premium then the Birdie Compact could be the mobile hoist for you. It has been fully TUV tested and CE-certified for safety and reliability, and is backed up by the knowledge and experience of Invacare.

The way the boom has been designed maximizes the space available for the user allowing for full rotation if need be without the danger of their knees banging on the actuator of the hoist. A lightweight and simple to use remote control comes as standard. There is even a handy hook to attach it to the frame so it is easily accessible. 

The Birdie Compact has been designed to offer the greatest performance whilst taking up the minimum of space. Weighing in at just under 36 kilos, it is extremely easy to fold down for storage or transportation and can even stand upright to take up a very small amount of floor space. Both the boom and the mast on the hoist can be very easily removed if required.

The manual leg spread is operated as standard via a simple foot pedal at the base of the hoist or, if preferred, a handle can easily be attached in place of the foot pedal. There is also the option of operating the foot spreader electronically so no effort is required.

The Birdie Compact comes as standard with a 2 point spreader bar which operates via a quick release system and is available in different widths. A 4 point spreader bar is also available as an option if required, again, in various widths. There is also the option to fit a digital scale between the sling and the spreader bar if weight monitoring is part of a care plan.

From a safety perspective, there is an easily accessed emergency stop button. In the event of power failure, a manual over ride system allows you to gently lower the user in complete safety.

All of this comes with the peace of mind of 12 months home engineer callout. The Birdie 180 also comes with a 12 month warranty on the battery, 3 years warranty on the actuator unit and a 5 year guarantee on the frame.

Accompanied Delivery

All of our major products are available with an "Accompanied Delivery". This means that your new mobility product will be delivered to your door and assembled. The delivery person will go through the operations of the mobility product and show you how to use it, store it and even to charge it when required. Our staff will ensure  that you are entirely comfortable with your mobility product before they leave and they will even take the packaging away with them! The cost for this service is £95.00 (This service is only available to Mainland UK addresses)

Standard Delivery from Mobility Scooters Plus

If you are happy with your choice of mobility product and don't feel that you need someone to go through it all with you, you can opt for a "standard delivery". With the standard delivery option, included in the price you will still have the mobility product delivered to your door but it will be sent by one of our professional carriers. You will need to be able to un-box the product yourself and dispose of the packaging. Don't forget, we are always available on the telephone to help if you get stuck!

Returns policy

We very much hope that you will love your new mobility product and get many years of pleasure and service from it. However, if for any reason you wish to return your product to us you can do so within fourteen days as per the distance selling regulations. Making a Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

We accept credit and debit card payment. If you are shopping from outside of the UK, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, and all debit cards.

You can also use your PayPal account to order via the website.

You can order your new product in a variety of ways to suit you:

  1. Fill in the secure on-line form with your credit/debit card details, or purchase using Paypal.
  2. Fill in the contact form with an outline of the product that you would like and we will fill in the form for you.
  3. Fill in the contact from requesting a call back from us.

You can pay by credit or debit card, cheque, cash or we can organise a bank transfer for you. We also accept Paypal. Your payment can be made to the delivery person in certain circumstances when our Accompanied Delivery option is selected (please check with us for details). We do not offer payment terms or finance plans.

When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect you in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.
