The MAYAN AC from Horizon Mobility is an amazing scooter in so many ways. It is the first mobility scooter to have been designed around a 3 phase AC induction motor. This gives the MAYAN AC an incredible amount of power the like of which we have never experienced before. This all terrain mobility scooter is the ultimate off road machine for the serious rambler. Hand built in Britain, the Mayan AC is designed to go where most mobility scooters cannot. The huge 14" wheels and chunky tyres drive this capable scooter over terrain not normally accessible via a scooter. There is also the opportunity to have the Mode 3 off-road power upgrade fitted. This allows the mayan AC to show what it is truly capable of by increasing the maximum speed from 8 to 15 mph! This should only be used on private land, forest tracks etc to comply with the law.
There are three choices of wheels and tyres available to ensure the scooter is configured exactly to your needs. The standard wheels and tyres are suitable for road and moderate off-road use. If more a serious off road experience will be a regular feature, then specialist All Terrain wheels and tyres are available to offer superb grip in extreme conditions. Finally, if the golf course is where you intend to spend your time then a set of specialist Turf Tyres may be what you require. These minimise he damage to the surface of the grass and have been approved for golf course useage. A differential lock can also be added to ensure the correct power is going to the correct wheel in tricky areas.
This is also a mobility scooter designed to offer a viable solution to the heavier user. There is the option to fit a larger seat up to 30" in width, and the weight limit is a class leading 65 stone. Superb suspension front and rear soaks up the bumps and uneven surfaces extremely well. If further levels of comfort are required, you have the option to upgrade to either a full suspension seat or a reclining orthopaedic version.
The maximum standard range of the Mayan AC between charges is a respectable 25 miles. However, if this is not enough then heavy duty 100 A/H batteries are available to increase the range to 34 miles. For extreme use on or off the road, there is also the option to upgrade to a Lithium-ion battery system offering a staggering 60 miles maximum range!

All of our major products are available with an "Accompanied Delivery". This means that your new mobility product will be delivered to your door and assembled. The delivery person will go through the operations of the mobility product and show you how to use it, store it and even to charge it when required. Our staff will ensure that you are entirely comfortable with your mobility product before they leave and they will even take the packaging away with them! (This service is only available to Mainland UK addresses)
If you are happy with your choice of mobility product and don't feel that you need someone to go through it all with you, you can opt for a "standard delivery". With the standard delivery option, included in the price you will still have the mobility product delivered to your door but it will be sent by one of our professional carriers. You will need to be able to un-box the product yourself and dispose of the packaging. Don't forget, we are always available on the telephone to help if you get stuck!
